Description
- Painted Enamel
the cylindrical body of each rising from a slightly splayed foot to a waisted neck and flared rim, painted to each side with a Yin Yang symbol within a horizontal archaic scrollwork band, on a turquoise ground of scrolling peony and lotus, with a band of descending leaves at the shoulder and at the foot, with applied gilt-bronze elephant head handles
Condition
Both vases are in good condition, with the exception of enamel losses, flakes, crackle and minor dents. There are minor areas of overpainting, including the areas under the rim. There are minor surface wear and scratches. One vase with small areas of enamel loss near the foot, the largest area measuring 0.4x0.4cm.
