Description

the interior enamelled in green and aubergine against a yellow ground with a peony scroll and to the exterior with cranes in flight, the base inscribed with an apocryphal Jiajing mark

An English Private Collection.

Condition

There are extensive minute flakes to the yellow enamel, which also seems to be misfired with flecks of brown throughout. There are extensive scratches to the surface both interior and exterior. The base with glaze pulls and pinpricks. Minor glaze firing imperfections elsewhere.
