Description

  • Porcelain
each with deep rounded sides, painted to the exterior with a blossoming peony spray and a single butterfly in flight, inscribed to the base with a six-character reign mark

Condition

One bowl has a restored rim chip measuring 1.5x0.3cm, and other minor areas of rim restoration. There is a circa 2.5cm rim crack near the white magnolia beside the butterfly. The other bowl with minor rim restoration, possibly to conceal fritting/minute chips. The rim with minor iron spots. The foot with a shallow chip (0.5x0.2cm). There are small enamel flakes to the grey magnolia. Both bowls with general enamel wear/small losses, minor glaze firing imperfections and surface scratches.
