the lobed body supported on four ridged feet picked out in gilt, the centre inscribed in iron-red with an imperial poem dated to dingsi year of Jiaqing’s reign (corresponding to 1797), all within a gilt border and enclosed by a meander of lotus sprays and florets in bright enamels, the decoration repeated in the well and the exterior, all reserved on a lime-green ground continuing over the base save for a six-character seal mark in iron-red
Condition
The tea tray is slightly misfired, the lime-green ground is crackled with some unstable enamels, resulting in some enamel flakes/losses particularly to the exterior (largest approx. 0.7x0.5cm). The base with a brown tinge and crackled enamels around the foot, there is a rectangular area of a slightly different tone due to old adhesives. Other general enamel wear and rubbing to gilding.
