Description

  • lacquer
of circular form, the flat cover carved through the rich layers of red lacquer with three boys flying a kite in a garden landscape, the sides and the box encircled by keyfret bands, lacquered black to the interior and base

Condition

The cover has a 1cm split/crack to one side, and a shallow flake near the end of the string held by a boy. The rims of the cover and the box with some shallow lacquer flakes/losses. The base with some age cracks along the rim, with associated flakes.
