modelled in columnar form with an elephant standing four square on a double lotus base, all raised on a waisted circular platform enamelled with swirling waves and lotus lappets, sustaining a vase tied with ribbons
Condition
The lotus and elephant are slightly loose but firmly attached to the base. The metal pin at the top of the elephant's back may be a later replacement of the original attribute. The turquoise enamels on the lotus pod underneath the elephant shows extensive crazing. There are characteristic pinholes and minor bubbling to the enamels. There are minor dents and rubbing to the gilding.
