Description

  • stoneware and textile box with bone clasp
the deep rounded sides resting on a gently tapered foot, divided into six lobes accentuated by vertical ribs, the interior freely carved to the central medallion with a single lotus spray, covered overall in a creamy ivory glaze falling in characteristic teardrops to the exterior

Condition

There is 1.6cm area to the rim (a re-worked chip), which resembles one of the notches. There are numerous scratches to the glaze to the interior.
