the mitred frame inset with two panels above a narrow recessed waist and apron of arched, curvilinear form with a beaded edge, continuing onto cabriole legs, resting on rounded ball feet, the underside with three traverse stretchers

Provenance

Collection of Dr J. Vixseboxse (1916-1986), Dutch sinologist and diplomat. Acquired in China in the 1940s-70s, and thence by descent.

Condition

The table has two unequal-sized central panels, probably both replacements, a 6x4cm., area of repair to the bottom of one leg, circa 6cm., vertical hairline age cracks to two other legs with minor associated loss, a 2.5cm., chip to the beading on the apron and scratches to the top central panels.
