First slip (4 3/4 x 4 5/8 in.; 122 x 118 mm) has eight signatures: "John Hancock" (Massachusetts), "Robt Morris" (Pennsylvania), "Richard Henry Lee (Virginia), "Josiah Bartlett" (New Hampshire), "Geo: Read" (Delaware), "Geo Walton" (Georgia), "Wm Hooper" (North Carolina), and "Wm Ellery" (Rhode Island); the second slip (1 3/4 x 4 3/8 in.; 45 x 112) has three signatures: "Wm Williams" (Connecticut), "G. Wythe" (Virginia), and "Arthur Middleton" (South Carolina). Each laid down on a small mat, some light browning and staining. Matted, framed, and glazed together.
