4to (10 1/2 x 8 5/8 in.; 267 x 219mm).  27 lithographed portrait plates, 55 lithographed decorative vignettes (some full-page) printed in violet, and 35 ornamental initials in violet by Matisse, original lithographed wrappers bound in.  Brown and green morocco binding with floral motifs stamped in blind, gilt and silver-gilt, title in white calf inlays, edges gilt, doublures in morocco and gilt, brown suede liners (J. Anthoine Legrain, 1949).  Half morocco chemise and slipcase; some wear.
