Catalogue Note

first edition, first issue of the first letterpress edition, preceded by the small number of copies printed from the original engravings and colored by Blake. Robert Browning's copy, inscribed to him on the title from his friend, the attorney W.A. Dow.

The present has the poem "The Little Vagabound" not as a cancel as has been suggested by Bentley, but as an integral part, on page 71 (of 76 pages total - Vagabond begins on the recto of F4).

A fine copy with excellent provenance.
