- The excursion, being a portion of The Recluse, a poem. London: printed for Longman, Hurst, Rees, Orme, and Brown, 1814.

4to (272 x 202 mm). A few stray spots. Early Victorian green calf, covers decorated in blind and gilt, spine and inner dentelles gilt; neatly rebacked, original spine laid down.
First edition. Y1 has not been cancelled, and the two missing lines of verse have been supplied in manuscript. There are three other manuscript corrections in the same neat hand, on pp. 104, 149, and 195; the second of these is the same as Wordsworth himself made in a copy belonging to Benjamin Haydon, now at Cornell. Presentation copy from the author to Wordsworth's school friend William Calvert, presentation in the latter's hand on title. His brother Raisley Calvert was also a friend and left the poet a considerable sum in his will.
