8vo (9 1/4 x 7 1/4 in.; 235 x 184 mm). Handcolored engraved folding battle plan of the Battle of Waterloo by Gonne & Brocas, Dublin; very light soiling to margins of title-page. Full straight-grain green morocco by George Mullen, spine gilt-lettered and decorated in six compartments, covers with elaborate gilt borders of oak leaves and shamrocks, central panels with blindstamped arabesques, edges gilt; some wear and rubbing, spine slightly faded.

An elusive Southey title, published anonymously in Ireland, and never reprinted in London. The elaborate morocco binding is by publisher George Mullen, one of the most skillful and imaginative binders of the period.
