Catalogue Note
first edition of the last work published in Shelley's lifetime. In April of 1822 Shelley wrote to his friend John Gisborne: "I have received Hellas, which is prettily printed and with fewer mistakes than any poem I ever published [sic]. Am I to thank you for the revision of the press?" Three months later, on 8 July 1822, he drowned in the Bay of Spezia.
