Catalogue Note
Wolff arrived too late in Bukhara to save Stoddart and Conolly, who had been executed by the emir as spies, and was lucky to escape with his own life.
The work also describes his early life in Palestine, Egypt, Arabia, Mesopotamia, Georgia, Turkey and Persia.
