Catalogue Note
UNRECORDED. The author worked for the Indo-European Telegraph Company which was owned by the German firm Siemens. In July 1869 he travelled to Berlin where he spent some time learning how to use his company's new "high-speed" telegraphic equipment which was about to be installed in Persia before beginning his onward journey to that country, by way of Stettin, St. Petersburg, Moscow, and down the Volga to the Caspian Sea. He landed in Persia at Enzeli and finally travelled to Tehran where this manuscript journal was printed by lithography at the Printing Office of the Royal College.
