Catalogue Note

"A lively account of this voyage by an English officer... The Collingwood proceeded to the Pacific via South America making stops at Rio, Valparaiso, Santiago, Juan Fernandez and Guayaquil, Lima, Payta, and the Society Islands. From there the ship returned to the California coast, stopping at San Blas, Mexico, then sailing northward to Monterey, California. From Monterey the ship proceeded to the Hawaiian Islands, then continued southward, making a second stop at Tahiti, and visiting the Navigator Islands and Samoa before returning home" (Forbes).
