Catalogue Note

Terry was sent to India as chaplain to Sir Thomas Roe, ambassador to the Moghul's court. He joined Roe at Mandoa in 1617 and travelled with him thence to Ahmedabad, where he remained until 1618 before returning with Roe to England. The present volume gives an account of Terry's wide-ranging experiences on his travels, together with commentary on the places visited, and the customs of the people he encountered. THE BECKFORD COPY.
