Catalogue Note

PRESENTATION COPY, inscribed to Acheson Maxwell, "A. Maxwell Esq from his ever obliged & faithful friend The Author Feby 1828" (see introduction on p.154). This, Parry's final polar expedition, was a failed attempt to journey overland to the North Pole, rather than seeking a north-west passage as in his previous voyages.
