Catalogue Note

The authorship has been also attributed to Duncan Finlayson as well as to Peter Skeene Ogden. Ogden was a Hudson's Bay trader, who gave his name to Ogden's Hole, now known simply as Ogden, Utah. This account of life in Oregon focuses on life among the Indians, with incidental information on the fur trade.
