Catalogue Note

This important account of the last years of Spanish rule in Florida includes a narrative of a journey by land from St. Augustine to the Florida-Georgia border and a return trip in early 1818. There is also an appendix containing details of the Seminole War and the execution of Arbuthnot and Ambrister, which triggered protests from the British and Spanish governments and an investigation by the United States Congress.
