Catalogue Note

A special separate printing of the last chapter of the author's Narrative of a Journey (London, 1836 - see lot 730). The text was reset and issued for private distribution. WorldCat locates only four copies; it is not found in any bibliography and is unrecorded at auction.

On the recto of the map is an ink inscription in the author's hand: "From the Author. On a new Expedition to the Shores of the Arctic Ocean." The drop-head title has a presentation inscription in ink: "James Whishaw Esq. with the Author's Compts."
