Catalogue Note

Bryan Forbes (1926-2013) was one of the most creative figures in British cinema in the 1960s and 70s as a director, actor, scriptwriter, director and producer. He later became a successful writer of novels and non-fiction works. He was a longstanding friend of Graham Greene, and liked to claim that his great ambition was to write a book as good as The End of the Affair.
