Catalogue Note

According to Forrer's Biographical Dictionary, an example of Thamyros's intaglio of the warrior standing by his horse was formerly in the collection of Prince Isenburg. The signature was said to be spurious and the engraving was attributed to Filippo Rega (1761-1833).
