  • SILVER
the majority complete with chains, comprising: 

Four cartouche-shaped labels, flat-chased with vines, engraved Claret, Lisbon, White-Wine and Mountain, three maker’s mark SB only, one indecipherable maker’s mark and lion passant; another cartouche example, similarly chased, engraved Claret, Sandylands Drinkwater, all circa 1735; eight plain rectangular labels, engraved Hock, Madeira, Hermitage, Burgundy, Malmsey, Champagne and two Claret, Margaret Binley; a rectangular label, engraved Claret within pierced Vitruvian scroll border, the same, all circa 1770; three labels, reeded cut-cornered rectangular, engraved Madeira, Sherry and Claret, Thomas & James Phipps, 1818/19; another, similar, engraved White Wine, Phipps, Robinson & Phipps, 1813; three cast vine and scroll pattern labels, pierced Burgundy, Madeira and Claret, two Phipps & Robinson, 1804/06, the third unmarked; four reeded rectangular labels with removable paper MS titles, R. & S. Garrard & Co., 1899; three curved rectangular labels, engraved Harvey, Chili and Soy, Robert Garrard, 1809; six crescent-shaped labels, engraved Ketchup, Garlick, Lemon, Terragon, Elder and Chian, unmarked, circa 1770; and a small cut-cornered reeded rectangular label, pierced Cayenne, Charles Rawlings, 1821; two oval labels, gadroon bordered, pierced Sherry and Port, Reily & Storer, 1832/34; also a fragment with chain; a Sheffield plate crescent label, engraved Sherry, circa 1790; and a bottle-top label, stem missing, engraved on either side Claret; and two plated cut-cornered labels, engraved Whisky and Claret

Condition

conditions vary but most are in good to reasonable condition; the Lisbon label in the first cartouche shaped group has a pierced B; an interesting group
