  • 34cm., 13 3/8 in. diameter
of hexafoil shape, husks, leafshell and bead border, engraved with circular panels of fruit or flowers around a presentation inscription on the occasion of Florence Milnes's wedding, dated April 1882, three ball and claw feet

engraved inscription worn, one minor split to rim at 4 o'clock, otherwise good condition

Catalogue Note

The inscription reads: 'Presented to / The Honourable Florence Milnes/ on the occasion of / Her Marriage / by a few of the / Tennants on the Fryston Estates / viz / Wm Brook, Thoms Owston, Cec. C. Rooson / and the Fryston Coal Company / April 1882.'

The Hon. Florence Ellen Hungerford Milnes (1855-1923) was the daughter of Richard Monckton Milnes, 1st Baron Houghton and Hon. Annabella Hungerford Crewe. She married Maj.-Gen. Hon. Arthur Henry Henniker-Major, son of John Henniker-Major, 4th Baron Henniker of Stratford-upon-Slaney and Anna Kerrison, on 20 June 1882.1 She died on 4 April 1923, without issue.
