a good privately-commissioned Garter in blue velvet with 22 ct. engraved gold mounts, letters and buckle, marked WB & Co., London, 1911, in fitted case by Garrard

Provenance

Acquired by Robert Crewe-Milnes, 1st Marquess of Crewe (1858-1945)

The case is water damaged. The blue velvet ground is tired, there are traces of mould near the letters. Tears to velvet at points of stress. Would benefit from specialist clean. Despite this - lovely quality.
