Description
- Magogany
- 90cm. high, 80.5cm., wide, 51.5cm. deep; 2ft. 11½in., 2ft. 7¾in., 1ft. 8in.
the grey marble top above three long drawers and a lower tier, the fluted turned legs ending in brass caps
Provenance
Possibly acquired by John Crewe, 2nd Baron Crewe (1772–1835) when resident at the chateau Bois l'-Evèque, near Liège in Belgium. The 2nd Baron spent his retirement (and a spell in prison) in France and Belgium from 1830 and never took up residence at Crewe Hall, having been disowned by his father.
Condition
Country house condition. Some lifting and movement to veneers. Old marks and scratches. Signs of old worm which no longer appear to be active.
