Condition

The medium has remained in good condition. The paper has discoloured a little. The sheet has been extended at both the left and right edges. This may have been done by the artist.

Catalogue Note

The sitter was the Irish wife of Fulke Greville, of Wilbury in Wiltshire and envoy extraordinary to the elector of Bavaria. It was their daughter, Frances (d. 1818), who married John Crewe, later 1st Baron Crewe of Crewe (1742-1829) in 1766.
