Condition

The canvas is unlined, the paint surface is stable, and the varnish is even, slightly discoloured and rather dirty. There is a small area of rather more developed craquelure below the two figures on the left, where some of the paint has previously lifted but is now secure. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals very minor retouchings to lessen the effect of the craquelure in the foreground. In good overall condition.
