la miniature, signée Sené, représentant une femme vêtue d'une robe blanche à rubans bleus agrémentée d'une rose, portant un large chapeau, à son pupitre, tenant son violon, montée tardivement sur le couvercle d'une boîte en écaille blonde à monture d'or, probablement après 1906, le dessous contenant des cheveux châtains formant des hachûres, non poinçonnée, avec petite note manuscrite '76/ Exp. Bibl. Nat. 423 / Sené / Dame au violon'

Catalogue Note
Louis Sené (1747-1804) naquit à Genève en 1747; il est le frère de l'orfèvre Philippe Sené. Peintre et miniaturiste, il vécut à Paris, au 38 rue Neuve, et présenta ses dessins et peintures au Salon de 1804. Cette miniature fut présentée en 1906 lors d'une exposition à la Bibliothèque Nationale de Paris, (N. 423, Collection F. Doistau), Leo R. Schidlof, The Miniature in Europe, 1964, p. 745-746.
