Condition
Very good condition overall with some surface dirt and a few fine firing cracks, terracotta very finely modelled and attracitve.

Catalogue Note
Cette gracieuse Bacchante est mentionnée dans le catalogue de référence sur Joseph-Charles Marin, édité par Patrice Bellanger à l'occasion de l'exposition monographique du sculpteur qui se tint à sa galerie en 1992. Il la compare à une Jeune Fille nue jouant des Cymbales (exposée sous le numéro 24) qui est également adossée à un arbre, la ligne du corps formant un séduisant contraposto, le visage incliné sur son épaule droite et arobant un doux sourire aux lèvres.
