This season 3 episode follows the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant softball team, led by Homer, who go through their season undefeated, qualifying for the final championship game against Shelbyville's Nuclear Power Plant team. Mr. Burns makes a million dollar bet with Aristotle Amadapoulous, the owner of the Shelbyville plant, that Springfield will win. In order to secure victory, Mr. Burns hires nine professional baseball players (Roger Clemens, Wade Boggs, Ken Griffey Jr., Steve Sax, Ozzie Smith, José Canseco, Don Mattingly, Darryl Strawberry, and Mike Scioscia), much to the chagrin of the plant workers. Eight of the nine players, however, are taken off the team after getting involved in different accidents. The only professional player remaining is Darryl Strawberry, who plays the same position as Homer. The Springfield Nuclear Power Plant team eventually wins the game due to Homer's efforts.
