- 'Blonde Girl with Shiny Lipstick, N. Y. C.'
gelatin silver print, signed, titled, dated, and editioned 15/75 by Doon Arbus, the photographer's daughter, in ink and stamped on the reverse, 1967, printed posthumously by Neil Selkirk
Literature
Diane Arbus: Revelations (San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, 2003), p. 77
Condition
This gelatin silver print is in generally very good condition. In raking light, the following are visible: a sharp crescent-shaped crease in the lower portion of the image and lower margin; a small sharp crease in the right corner of the image; and a few very soft handling creases along the right edge of the image. None of these, however, appears to break the emulsion. There is a 1/8-inch tear in the left margin edge, which does not intrude upon the image, and some minor wear to the remaining margin edges and corners.
On the reverse of the print, the Estate Copyright stamp is annotated 19'72' in ink. Also on the reverse, 'RMG# A9011.090-0' is annotated in an unidentified hand in pencil.
