Description

  • Francesca Woodman
  • Untitled (Self-Portrait, Boulder, Colorado)
gelatin silver print, 1972-75

Provenance

Gift of the photographer to the present owner, 1970s, when students together at the Rhode Island School of Design

Condition

This gelatin silver print -- characteristically printed slightly askew and on unevenly trimmed 7x5-inch double-weight paper -- is in generally very good condition. As is typical of Woodman's lifetime prints, scattered soft and sharp handling creases are visible overall. A sharp handling crease in the upper right portion of the image may intermittently break the emulsion. The upper margin edge is slightly rippled, and there is insignificant wear to the margin edges and corners. The reverse has some light soiling along the upper edge. There is a small brown deposit of indeterminate nature near the right edge.
