Description

each with a flat seat defined by a circular outline with an irregular outer edge, supported on the underside by gnarled braces joined to four naturally contorted and entwined knotted and burled legs, the lustrous patina of a warm caramel-brown colour

Condition

The stools are in an unusually good state of preservation, with the original patina intact. As visible in the catalogue photo, there are extensive natural age cracks to the root wood material‎. There is typical surface wear, minor bruises to the extremities, and characteristic shrinkage, especially where the differing sections slot into place. However, all the components of both stools are stable, and the pins that connect them are barely discernible. The patina is in reality a more attractive lighter and warmer caramel-brown than in the catalogue photo.
