Catalogue Note
Megaselachus Megalodon (formerly known as the Carcharodon Megalodon) was a large predator fish resembling a shark that populated the oceans until its extinction over two million years ago. With an imposing open jaw capable of devouring large quantities of fish, it earned the reputation of being a most formidable predator-fish, and possibly even the most terrifying carnivore in known history. The powerful Megalodon owes its name to its large and sharp teeth, a nearly perfect example of which is presented here in a bronze green colour.
