Condition

This work is in very good condition overall. There is an overall yellow cast to the image, which is also apparent in the white/gray margin of the photograph. This yellow cast appears inherent to the original artist's printing. There is evidence of wear and handling to the sides, edges and corners of the artist's chosen frame. There are scattered surface abrasions which are visible under close inspection and raking light. There are several areas of adhesive residue along the bottom margin of the photograph.
In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above. Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report. Prospective buyers should inspect each lot to satisfy themselves as to condition and must understand that any statement made by Sotheby's is merely a subjective qualified opinion.

Catalogue Note

"The gallery is a kind of unclear, in-between space for many people. It's not defined like a football stadium or a concert venue. I wanted to capture that interim sense of place." Thomas Struth
