Condition

This work is in very good condition overall. The colors are bright, fresh and clean. There is a light varnish over the whole canvas, likely applied by the artist at the time of execution. There is evidence of light wear and handling along the edges including some extremely faint and unobtrusive pinpoint paint losses. Under very close inspection there are a few pinpoint media accretions scattered throughout, likely from the time of execution. There are some extremely small faint horizontal abrasions visible at the lower right corner. Under Ultraviolet light inspection, the aforementioned varnish fluoresces lightly in drips, but does not appear to be the result of restoration. The white spots on the figure and monkey's face and hands fluoresce but do not appear to be the result of restoration. Framed.
