Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is less saturated and the background is slightly warmer in the original. Condition: This work is in good condition. There is evidence of light wear and a few artist's nails scattered in places, some of which have resulted in a few tiny associated cracks and specks of loss. Very close inspection reveals a few fine and unobtrusive hairline cracks isolated in the white pigment in places. There is some faint discolouration to the varnish towards the edges and a few spots of media accretions scattered elsewhere, all of which are possibly inherent to the artist's choice of medium and the materials' natural ageing process. No restoration is apparent when examined under ultraviolet light.
