Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate. Condition: This work is in very good condition. Close inspection reveals evidence of light rubbing on the extreme overturned edges in places. Visible only when examined under ultraviolet light, there is a small patch of pigment irregularity which fluoresces, towards the lower right edge of the white circle.

Catalogue Note

"We want to see the newest things. That is because we want to see the future, even if only momentarily. It is the moment in which, even if we don't completely understand what we have glimpsed, we are nonetheless touched by it. This is what we have come to call art."

(Takashi Murakami, Superflat, Tokyo 2000, p.9).
