Catalogue Note

"The word “accumulation” is essentially one of the terms of economics. But money is really less of an object as it is a symbolic object – something that certain objects can symbolise. Pieces of money are objects that were conceived for the purpose of accumulation – that were designed to be accumulated."

Henry Martin, Arman, New York 1973, p. 36
