The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although it fails to fully convey the rich texture of the surface visible in the original.
Condition:
This work is in good condition. Close inspection reveals evidence of wear and handling scattered along the extreme outer edges. Very close inspection reveals a few spots of craquelure scattered in places. There are irregularities to the edges of the canvas which appear to be original and inherent to the stretching of the canvas. Examination under ultraviolet light reveals at least one small spot of retouching towards the center of the right half of the composition, and a few further spots of darker fluorescence which do not appear to be restoration.
