- rose quartz, wood, fluorspar
of octagonal form supported on three legs, flanked by a pair of animal mask loop handles, each face carved with an animal mask, the domed cover similarly decorated and surmounted by two Buddhist lions, wood stand; together with four rose quartz washers and a pair of green fluorspar figures of qilin, wood stands
Condition
The censer has extensive rim chips, the largest measuring 2cm. One leg has been broken and restuck. The original rings on the loop handles are now lost. There are also considerable chips along the cover rim and extremities of the carving.
The four washers have small chips along the extremities. The head and the tail of the tortoise to one is lost.
The pair of qilin have small chips along the extremities of the carving and the corners of the rectangular bases. A section of the tip of the tail of one qilin is lost.
There are natural flaws to the stones.
