Condition
The picture is made up of two horizontal panels, the upper panel is thinned slightly where it reaches the join. The join is supported by wooden square reinforcements and bevelled on all four edges.
The paint surface is very dirty. Inspection under ultraviolet light shows retouching along the aforementioned join and throughout the sky (but especially to the right). There is less retouching in the foliage and the darker areas of the foreground and scattered small restrengthenings throughout the figures.
Offered in a stained wooden frame, in very good condition.
