Condition

There is restoration to the brim of the hat and to the left lapel of his waistcoat. There is restoration to the applied flower and single leaf on the base.

Catalogue Note

It has been suggested that this unusual figure may represent the jester of the Saxon Court Johann Christoph Kirsche, the companion performer of Joseph Fröhlich. See Yvonne Adams, Meissen Figures, 2001, no. 286, for an example of this figure dressed as Harlequin.
