Description

  • A jewelled silver-gilt and enamel novelty box, Austro-Hungarian, late 19th century
  • silver-gilt, enamel, green and garnet cabochon
  • 11cm., 4 1/4 in. long
formed as a double-barrel pistol, embossed and enamelled with floral scrolls and set with pale green and garnet cabochons, the lid springing open when the trigger is pressed, apparently unmarked

Condition

Generally good condition with a few enamel losses. Green enamel near trigger decayed.
