Oil on original canvas. There appears to be a very slight undulation in the canvas towards the upper right corner, but otherwise the canvas appears sound. There are several possible light scratches towards the lower central area of the work. There is some reticulation, most apparent in the impasto black painted areas. On close inspection, there appears to be some areas of very minor paint loss, most apparent in the lower right quadrant. There is some surface dirt, most noticeable to the white pigment, and studio detritus across the work. Subject to the above, the work appears to be in good overall condition. Ultraviolet light reveals no obvious signs of fluorescence or retouching. The work is housed in a simple painted wooden frame.
