Provenance

Sotheby's, London, 21 June 2000, lot 72
Coughton Galleries, Market Harborough

Condition

Oil on board. The board appears sound. There are some very small flecks of possible paint loss, most apparent on the body of the horse, which may be inkeeping with the artist's working method. There are possible signs of very minor reticulation, most apparent towards the left vertical edge. There is some surface dirt and studio detritus across the work. Subject to the above, the work appears to be in good condition. Ultraviolet light reveals no obvious signs of fluorescence or retouching. The work is presented in a simple painted wooden frame, with an accompanying wooden easel. Please telephone the department on +44 (0) 207 293 6424 if you have any questions regarding the present work.
