Condition

Minor marks and restorations to the veneer. Minor marks to the brass mounts. Minor warping to the brass mounts, consistent with age. In overall good condition.

Catalogue Note

The present bureau derives from other examples which are slightly larger, a number of which were delivered for the Palace of Pavlovsk.  One in the antechamber on the ground floor is illustrated, A.M. Kuchumov, Russian Decorative Art in the Collection of the Pavlovsk Museum, Leningrad, 1981, fig. 15.
